Well, I've finished the Couch to 5k programme! I have some thoughts on how to keep motivated, but would appreciate some tips from you regular runners out there please. π

How to keep motivated?
Hey Rhed! Congratulations to you. ππ½ππ½ππ½ππβ€οΈ
Lots of people do C25K+ or Bridge to 10k. I have downloaded a running app and Iβm having my own little adventure while I consolidate. π I donβt follow a programme, but choose a different guided run according to what I feel like doing. I still run every other day, which is what I personally wanted to achieve. I might decide to follow a programme again, but probably not until after my Charity Parkrun in September. Iβm in no rush and really just enjoying being a runner!!
Lots of choices!! Enjoy!! πβ€οΈ
T'in siarad Cymraeg? Gwych! Dysgwr ydw i
Just asking in Welsh if Rhedwr speaks Welsh, because I am a Welsh learner and love to see the language being used.
Congratulations on graduating! Get your badge here: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I did 3 weeks of consolidation runs - basically just having fun running different distances and durations. You can quite quickly get up to 6k. After that you can choose from a number of plans to get you to run up to 10k if you wish - it only takes a few weeks and it retains some of the structure of C25K. Have a look in the Bridge to 10k forum for details (ju-ju's plan is really good). The main thing though is to get the running habit embedded into your weekly schedule so that you keep it going. I've not done a parkrun yet (first one on Saturday), but as Fab450 says above, they sound great.
I use an event to keep me going. I do a special event either a 10km or a HM in May. From November to May I am training for that. I have a long training plan with steady increases. From June to October I use that time for lots of speed interval runs and more Stregnth work at the gym. It is sort of my off season training.
Llongyfarchiaudau! Congrats π
Afraid I can't help massively from the post grad running perspective, as I ended up on the IC after graduating, but I've been following various people either consolidating for a while, doing the couch to 5k plus podcats, or moving on to 10k in the 10k forum. I think so long as you're enjoying whatever you're doing, then that is the most important thing. Pob lwc! Best of luck!
