So i’ve only been running twice since my bad run 19 days ago, I feel like i’ve Lost my motivation to get back on it. Is it because the school holidays have started & my routine has changed or have I lost the enjoyment of running? Any tips welcome

Waiting for motivation is pointless, it may never turn up. Because you haven’t run for a while, you have forgotten how great it feels when a run is done!

You need to create your own motivation How about going back to a run that you enjoyed and do that one, nice and slow and with lots of positive self talk.

Tonight lay out your gear and in the morning straight up and out. No debate!

It’s weird isn’t it? It might be school holidays and having a lazy off with the kids??

Personally I prefer running in cooler weather and so this is killing my running mojo but I’ve just got back and I do feel better for it. Even though it was riddled with little issues like loose laces, stopping for a wee, running into a massive thorn, geese in the way (took a photo 😂).

I am doing the couch to 10K and am at the 5k mark (having done the couch to 5k in the winter and then got a grade 2 calf tear in spring!).

I’ll get there. I am finding it easier but can’t wait for the weather to cool down so I can run at my fave time of day which is about 10am.

If you listen to music, how about you make yourself a killer playlist, and just get out there. If you’re in doubt and having second thoughts, have a stern word with yourself and do it anyway. I’m not sure what week you’re on, but you’re sure to surprise yourself - imagine the feeling when it’s done ......

Just embrace your inner snail, smile and get out there running. You won’t regret it!

Go on! Good luck. ❤️

Choose a time and go for it... you’ll soon get back in the swing of it. I usually want to escape the house for at least an hour during the holidays, you’ll appreciate the time by yourself.

Just do it, don’t think about it, it’s the aftermath of a run that’s motivating, that great feeling of “Yes, I did it”. Get out there!!!

Think of all the reasons you started this journey in the first place. Everyone looses motivation from time to time. Don’t give up 👍🏼
