So I just did W1R2 this morning, but I’m wondering what people do with the schedule? Do you do M/W/F or M/W/F/Su/Tu/Thur/Sat? (Does that make sense? )

Hi there - my schedule was Monday, Wednesday, Friday. This gave me a nice 2 day break over the weekend or gave me spare days if it went a bit wrong during the week. Hope that helps

I do what works best for me dependant on the week and also how I’m feeling. I mentally plan the days I’ll run and for me that’s half the battle. I always leave a days rest between each one.

My schedule varies a bit depending on work but I leave at least 1day between runs (except for once). However, have also been doing aquafit, cycling and walking sometimes on the same day and sometimes alternate days. Done nothing today as feeling really tired - ran my w4run1, cycled and did a short run outside (only 0.6km mix of walking and jogging) yesterday. Can only do it because between jobs for a couple of weeks. Planning how I can keep it up once my new job starts. Thing is to enjoy it. I find it most beneficial to run at the start of the day. Gives me a real buz for the rest of the day and actually find it a bit easier as well.

I did M-W-F quite religiously, but it doesn’t really matter. As long as you have your rest days it’s up to you.

I’m another Mon/Wed/Fri person, although occasionally things crop up and I need to switch. It doesn’t matter at all what you choose, and the ‘weeks’ can straddle actual weeks if that helps you! 😀

To be fair, I started on Saturday just gone so my “weeks” are going to straddle anyway :)

You do what suits you :) As long as you are leaving a rest day in between each run day.. that is fine:)

My routine was always Sunday Tuesday and Friday... :)

I do every second day so m/w/f/su/tu/th etc on the alternate days I walk sometimes only 10 minutes but it’s active walking

I do Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Wanted to get used to doing Saturdays so that when I’m a bit more confident I can go to Parkrun.

I did Tues,Thurs and whichever of Sat or Sun that fitted with family plans.

Now it's school holidays and I try to go when I can but difficult.

As the guide to the plan suggests healthunlocked.com/couchto5... as long as you have a rest day between runs you can be flexible and do what suits you best.

I've never had a schedule or a plan. I'm about to start week 8 and have just run when I can. I've never had more than 4 consecutive rest days and I've run mornings, lunchtimes, evenings, at home, at work, on holiday, weekdays and weekends. Best result was 4 runs in 7 days, worst was 4 runs in 13 days. I know some people may need a more scheduled plan, but it works for me!

Well done for finishing the 2nd run of the programme. That's good going.

In terms of the schedule, when I was doing C25K I tended to run Mon, Wed and Friday and leave the weekend free. Some weeks I moved the runs about depending on what other commitments I had in my life at the time. So it might have been a Monday Thursday and Saturday. It's important to have at least one rest day between runs, and having two at the weekend (or whenever you decide) gives you a real opportunity to recharge and mend those leg muscles and be ready for the week ahead. I tended to do other exercise on the rest days but if you decide to do that make sure it's non-impact.

Good luck with week 1 run 3.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I think I’ll leave weekends for myself unless I’ve had a busy week and I’ve not had chance to do a run!
