Ive currently just finished week 5 and during my run my breathing has some how caught uo with what I am doing. As you get fitter, your cardiovascular system will get better also. Try to slow down a touch and see if it helps 👍🤞

It comes in time. Pro distance running breathing and strides is out there, but won’t help you yet.

Your breathing and heart rate go crazy as you approach 100% effort. The key is to run around 80% of that, and in the next few weeks as much less as you like. You should be able to just about talk you someone and run your pace. It’s not easy at first, and the advantage for treadmill guys, but it will come.

You’re starting to condition yourself for 5k and above... none of those distances require, even at Olympic gold standard, more that 90% heartrate, in fact it’s bad to go there. Keep it steady, go snails pace and slowly increase. Your body needs to know it had a workout but not think it’s gonna die!

Personally, the less I think about breathing the better! I hated the session where there's talk of breathing, because as soon as my attention was drawn to it, it went all over the place.

If you are getting out of breath I would think you are running too fast. Slow right down if you need to. I try not to think too much about breathing, when I do it all goes wrong! 😁😁

Thank you, I do tend to run fast so I’ve slowed down a bit today and my breathing wasn’t as bad x I’m only on the 2nd week.

Hi I'm asthmatic so tend to get a bit breathless, I puff out as much air as possible from my mouth and then breathe in (sounding like a steam train is the goal 😂), having said that I've noticed over time it's become a lot easier to breathe when running (I'm now 4.5 months post grad (!) ) slowing down will help and the heat/humidity can make it harder to get enough oxygen 😊
