Bluetooth earphones

Hi, can anyone recommend some good in-ear sports Bluetooth earphones that don't fall out whilst running. Preferably those type with the hook over the ears to hold them in place.

I can then contact Samsung to see if they're compatible with my Galaxy 8 smart phone as two of my current Bluetooth earphones aren't and I have to run with an over-ear round pair that make me look like Princess Leia currently πŸ™„

Have had a search on here for posts but seem to be a year+ old so thought I'd check for latest models.

TIA 😊

I got these true wireless ones by Tranya. Love them. They felt great straight out of the box but I had ordered Inair (Air2) ear buds which are similar to Comply and give a more isolated sound, but also because they're foam like ear plugs they have a stronger hold inside your ear. Buying the separate buds also means you can tailor the size for your ears, S/M/L. I looked at everything before I bought, Jaybird, Bose, you name it and my shortlist was huge, largely due to mixed reviews. The running magazines/online articles would all rave about a named brand, but they would never match Amazon or online reviews. Real people in real life situations.

I suffer occasional stutter, but this is only when I pass a particular point on my run, past an old people's home can you believe. Perhaps it's the amount of hearing aids!?!?!? It's weird. But never anywhere else.

I eventually just went for it when I saw a lightning deal, so paid only Β£34 and I'd happily pay double or triple that having tried them.

Hope you get something, and I'll be watching out for your review.

Many thanks Sutsha, these sound excellent and are Bluetooth 5.0, as my phone is, which is why I think the others weren't working.

I've checked the spec and immediately ordered a pair on Amazon.

Thanks so much, I'd spent much of my day off morning searching and you've helped me solve the problem, so I can get on with other things now!

Thanks again. πŸ‘

Last run tonight before I graduate - yay!

I forgot to add that in, my phone is also Samsung 8! Duh, that would've saved you more worries.

Wait til you deep them into the charge box, they click when the magnets connect... I'm easily pleased!!

One thing I learned is to keep the box charged. I'm bad for abandoning them after my run, or putting them in the box which needs charged.

The box itself charges then and is really small enough that you can carry it with you if you need to take them out anywhere. Biggest fear for the first few times is that you'll lose one. I usually take one out on the cool down to talk to my OH on our way back home. The whole time I'm gripping it for fear of putting it in my pocket!

Ha, great news about your phone, thanks! πŸ‘

Yes, I was uncertain about buds too, thinking they'd fall out during a run but clearly plenty of folks here use them successfully.

Could you make a call using two of them in or is best to go down to one?

I'd read a review that said two people could share them using one each (i.e. If watching a movie on an iPad) by changing the setting to Mono (they'd need very clean ears for me to share).

Yes, got to keep across the charging. I think I'd be a little lost without any music or podcast if they ran out of juice. I know I should be 'at one with nature' and present etc but I'm also easily bored πŸ˜„

Same, I have that issue with anything wireless as I forget!

I've received a call while wearing them and was surprised how little I had to do, took my phone out, because I'd forgotten I wouldn't need to, then was amazed that the caller could hear me and me them! Lol.

I know what you're saying about sharing, but I don't see the need. I wouldn't run with one and indoors I wouldn't be using earphones in the main. Megaboom for around the house!

One more thing I should add is, mess about with the fit. They were good enough when I first put them in, but about a week later I realised if I tilted them slightly backwards, kind of opposite of what I'd expected, they sat even better. Again, maybe it was just me being a bit thick πŸ€ͺ

I’ve recommended these to my friend, thank you

β€’ in reply toTasha99

Great! I should be on commission πŸ˜†

Seriously though, hope everyone loves them as much as I do. My logic was sound, if they weren't any good, Amazon have a quick, easy return policy!

Thanks Sutsha, more good tips.

I'm also off to look up Megaboom now. This could be an expansive thread ...πŸ€”

Totally! Lost your comment about the Garmin too. The Garmin Forerunner 235 is on my Santa list and Jay66UK highlighted a Prime deal and I failed to do the sensible thing... So, it's still on my list and yes, this list is getting stupid πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Have I told you about my new running sunglasses... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Haha! Funnily enough I've ordered these earlier in the Wiggle sale (in white - why not!):

😎

Yes, I missed out that Garmin deal too, thinking I didn't need it, have my Fitbit etc, but realise that a phone app can only do so much and the watch will give me oodles more fun stats πŸ€“

I'm going to try to wait till Black Monday but might not last that long!

Let me know if you weaken first! 😜

β€’ in reply toDesignbod

Love it! They're great. Yeah, Fitbit Blaze this end and not too old, so I'm trying to be good... Also, got a few deals with folk to put any bargains on here if they find em! You in??? 😁

OMG amazon 1-click is too dangerous! I’ve just ordered a set too based on your fab review!

Hey Designbod. I’ve got a pair of Monster iSport Victory. I’ve no issues connecting them over Bluetooth, and while they do stay in, I can never seem to get them to fit right, so I’m always faffing with them during the run.

So whilst they do stay in, I’ll find that sound is only coming out of one ear, so I need to push it in, pull it out, tilt it up/down, and then it’ll be fine.

I’ll be interested to hear what other people are using too.

DesignbodGraduateβ€’ in reply toLittle-runner

Thanks for the feedback, they certainly seem tricky things to get right. Lots of trial and error. I'm building up a nice little headphone 'graveyard drawer'!

I keep thinking about wearing my over ear ones, (which are great), but they are bright orange and I worry that a. they'll be too hot, and b. i'll look ridiculous!

Designbod profile image
DesignbodGraduateβ€’ in reply toLittle-runner

The only ones I have that work currently sit over my ears and are not the trendy type but make me look like a robot crossed with Princess Leia πŸ˜† Plus they're annoying with a hat and sunnies. They do make my ears hot as well and I'm sure the sweat will dissolve the pads!

Mine are great and don’t budge when I’m running. They’re Anker Soundcore Spirit ones - earbuds with a little hook thingy which also sits in your ear and holds them firmly in place. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€

DesignbodGraduateβ€’ in reply tocheekychipmunks

I've been uncertain about earbuds falling out during a run but they seem very popular and your type with the retainers sound great.

cheekychipmunksGraduateβ€’ in reply toDesignbod

I’d fully recommend them. I bought some over the ear ones first, but they kept slipping and there was a lot of ambient noise.

Also they’re very simple to pair with your phone! πŸ‘πŸ»

For some reason my two pairs of Mpow headphones don't work with this annoying phone (Galaxy S8) - but work fine with my iPad and old Samsung Galaxy 5 πŸ™„

Technology is such a time-bandit.

How funny! Were the two connected?

My wrists are spookily small and I had Robin Cousins help me shift a dining table in a restaurant once. Definitely not connected ☺️

I run with Bose Sport wireless headphones! They suited my ear canal better than some of the other wireless ones. I had struggled with finding others comfortable. They’re a bit pricey but I do get plenty of use as I use them a lot when I’m travelling too. No wires to get caught up in the bag or catch on stuff is definitely a big bonus. They were a present to myself last year and I really like the level of isolation. They are so many to choose from now and the difference is not always that significant. So I’d go with whatever works for comfort and staying in place. Happy running!! ❀️

DesignbodGraduateβ€’ in reply toFabulous450

Thanks. You're right, the choice is pretty staggering.

Bose are always very reliable.

Yes they have been for me anyway. I meant to say I struggled with finding others comfortable and I’ve tried a lot! Doh!! πŸ™„

Sometimes there’s too much choice and it’s not as if they’re open! Headphones are what you call real trial and error! 😁 ❀️

I use the Vi headphones from Lifebeam. These aren't cheap but the sound quality and accompanying app are simple excellent. These neckband headphones can be used as simple headphones and Bluetooth type headset so can make and take calls while listening to music or audio books etc. The big USP on there though is the heart rate in ear reading and the AI that will help you run better offering nice friendly encouragement and helping to know your pace HR distance time etc. I use mine almost everyday while I walk or run to work etc. I won't want to be without them. I have opted for the Comply Foam buds too as the isolation is better. Though the original buds are great too. When I got mine last March after paying them via KIckstarter I was immediately impressed when I opened the postage wrapping. Lifebeam clearly went to some length to design a stunning package.

Designbod profile image
DesignbodGraduateβ€’ in reply toMarinride

Wow, these sound like a whole different level. I'm intrigued and will be looking them up πŸ‘

β€’ in reply toDesignbod

These were also on my short list, but still a few teething issues with the tech so I read. I also wondered about the comfort of the neckband, but pleased to hear Marinride 's review.

Jabra are another set that will be fabulous once they get their act together.

Marinride profile image
Marinrideβ€’ in reply toMarinride

I've also used the Sony B Trainer type. These carry 16gb of music and mean you don't need to use your phone though they will link too it just like a Bluetooth headset. I didn't find the fit great for me hence going for the Vi instead. The Sony option still give a HR reading but I found it hard to get a proper connection. Perhaps my head bobs too much when I run. Wearing glassed didn't help with the fitting over the ear either.

Hello there Designbod! I have a Samsung S7 and I use the type that go around the back of your head? I'll post a link in a mo if hubby can help me out with that🀣 I haven't tried the ear hook ones, but mine never show any danger if falling out, I often forget I've still got them in they're so comfy....just need to remember to charge em first.....I too have rocked the Princess Leah look.....very hot ears resulted for me🀣

Now then, I've found the link...how to I copy that thingy onto this thingy?🀣

Well anyway, if anyone out there has not got bored and left, waiting for me to figure out the technical stuff......these are the ones I use.....pretty good sound too! And still available at a silly cheap price!😁
