Hi everyone

Just wanting anyone who has been able to get back to jogging after having this injury to give me some hope that I will in the future be able to jog again too?

Thanks very much! :)

Cannot help with this, but maybe one of the forum friends may be able to offer advice if they have had the same injury.. but obviously no one person will have the same experiences:)

Have you had any information from your doctors?

Hi Oldfloss Yes, still under the physio team and I know they will do their best. I must be patient and do as I am told. I just feel frustrated really. I think it might be a long road but I just wanted to hope I would jog again as I need it for my well-being and the suggested (by physio) of swimming and cycling just don't compare really! :(

There is a lot of info on the internet, some very sound... it may help.

I empathise with you.. I am allowed to cycle, swim and walk, but not run. It is not the same, but it does help keep us fit:) Hoping my MRI tomorrow may be a turning point!

The thing is.. the runs are there, and they will wait for us:)

Totally agree Oldfloss . Hope all goes well with your MRI tomorrow. I had one on Sat which confirmed physio's expectations but hey, it could of been worse! Yes, I know, I still day dream about running (I think more so now because that I can't)! :O I haven't been on here for ages because of knee so have missed what you have done (injury wise), hopefully not too serious? Am now back walking but swimming or cycling is not so spontaneous! :P Take care! :)

NHS physiotherapists are the most wonderful people. I found that they often know more than GPs (IMHO!).

If you had physio after the tear you might be able to just ring them up and ask. If not, worth asking GP for a referral or even paying for a consultation with a private sports physio.

I was attacked by a stranger a couple of years ago and needed quite a lot of surgery and physio and they got me back to fully functioning in no time. They really understand how the body heals. Can't praise them highly enough.

Your experience sounds awful but I agree with you, it's amazing what can be done nowadays and it's doubly amazing how the body can heal.

Oh crikey SuperMouse, I wondered where you’d got to. Sorry I can’t help you with your injury as I’ve no experience of it, I just know it is possible but it takes time. Everything crossed for you, and we’ll be here for you if you need us, even if it’s just somewhere to shout in frustration!! 🤞🤞🤞🤗

Like the others have suggested you should speak to a health professional, a sports physio or your consultant for advice as everyone is different and what would have worked for one person might not work for another.

I wish you well and hope it's not too long before you can get out there again.

Hi Irishprincess Yes, I am still under physio, the decision has yet to be made whether to stick with just physio or go down the surgery route as well. Think it might take a long while but I just wanted to know the possibilities of jogging again really. The physio's are great but they obviously won't commit to whether or not I will be able to jog again.
