I haven’t posted on here before so hi everyone! Today I did the first run of week 7! I kept running the whole way but got a very painful stitch right towards the end, and had to slow down to almost walking. Bit disappointed need top tips for getting rid of helping with a stitch! Thanks in advance

Painful but harmless. Not sure how fast you run but you may need to slow down? Concentrate on your breathing but that’s hard when you’re knackered lol. If it’s really bad you just need to slow down to a walk and hopefully it will pass!! I don’t think I run fast enough to get a stitch 😂😂

Thank you I didn’t think I was running very fast! I normally run early morning before breakfast but last couple of time have ran in the evening and that seems to be when I get a stitch may go back to early morning!

Try blowing out hard a few times and also pressing hard into the stitch area if you can. Doing one or the other or even both sometimes gets rid of it.

You snook up on your body by running late... it was all like “ok, that was lunch so no run today” and it wasn’t ready for you! It will get used to these surprises... eventually it’ll say to you “it’s lunchtime, let’s go”. Keep up the good work

Sometimes as has been said a stich is caused by going too fast. Sometimes it’s to do with breathing (which can also be related to going too fast!) in which case consciously breathing more deeply, as well as slowing down, may help. A third possible factor may be dehydration. It’s mainly how much you drink the DAY BEFORE you run that is important although it’s been said that a small drink of water just before the run can help assuming you’ve already hydrated properly the day before.
