Why are some runs fine, some horrible?

Finished Week 7 today. The first two runs were great and I felt really optimistic about the next couple of weeks. This morning was much tougher and although I didn't even consider giving up I did slow to a walk for a few seconds a couple of times. The process isn't linear, is it?

I had same experience just now in week 4 last run. I know it’s just how it is but man!

I hope you have more good runs and fewer horrible ones! Good luck with the rest of the programme.

Hey Deborah a big well done to you. Sometimes the runs are just not what we anticipate and perhaps our minds head off into other things, before or even during a run. We forget sometimes to just run to just enjoy the feeling of moving our bodies and being just in that moment aware of how good that feels. Some runs are like being in a trance with it, whereas others are focussed on when the next instruction from our coach will be coming. Nevertheless we do it. And in time we have less of the over thinking and waiting for instruction ones and more of the mindfree glorious ones. Well done!! ❤️

Thanks, as ever, for the encouragement and words of wisdom.

I had a horrendous run on Tuesday night. My 5k was only ever 10k pace. I think I wasn’t hydrated and had gone out too soon after eating. Luckily I’ve learned that this is normal as after the first time it happened I was worried I’d quit running! The next run will get you back on track. Make sure you drink plenty of water 👌🏽

Many thanks for the advice and encouragement. And well done for keeping up the running!
