Hard Going

I started back running about 5 weeks ago after having a few weeks break as lots of family issues and didn't have time to fit any runs in. I decided to run for the first time out doors instead on the treadmill. I done my 30 minutes run which I was really pleased about but after the run my hip was really hurting. Over the next few days I could hardly walk with my hip, I hadn't done anything before hand and cant understand what I had done. The only thing I could think of is the path with a little uneven and maybe I jolted my hip this way. 4 weeks its taking my hip to get better before I could run again. I've just started back and decided to repeat from w6r1 I even found this really hard going, What with the heat Hot! Hot! Hot! I suppose I will have to build myself up again. I'm so disappointed that I have lost it so quickly after all the build up and now I feel I'm back to the beginning again. Oh well it was great while it lasted. If I've done it once I can do it again. I am struggling in this heat though.

Can you run when it is cooler... ? Although cooler weather may be on the way... You have had a rough patch really, but you will get back to it... the build up back is alot easier as you know what to expect...

A few of us in the same boat and we can support each other:) I am no 7 weeks into no running.. MRI in two weeks time and then hopefully starting back :) x

You will do this:)

Hey Banksy23! It shows how much you love running. It must be challenging to feel the shorter running time is harder. You are back out there for the love of it and I’m sure your body will get you back to your previous form. I’m know that I’m no expert here at all. But you’re certainly not at the beginning! You’re just taking good care of yourself! Well done for getting back out there after IC. Big hugs! ❤️
