Day 1 of Couch to 5K.....here goes..

Started week 1 day 1 today of C5K. Had been putting it off for about 4 weeks. Dping as much for fitness and weight loss as my mental health. (Suffering with depression for past 4 years ) Felt quite unfit as I've not run for a long time. Chose Sarah Millican and off I went. First 4 x 60 sec runs felt rubbish as I was on a very slight incline but as I reached the slight drop and also shady stretch I felt great. I did it !!!! Feeling very happy now. Now nice shower and cuppa and I'm set for a nice relaxing day.

Well done for getting out there, that's the hardest part sometimes!

Running definitely has benefits beyond the obvious physical gains. Although I'm not affected myself, I can see how it would help with depression, anxiety, self-confidence etc.

Just stick with it! It's absolutely worth it!

Well done for starting :) and yes to Sarah - I absolutely love her little keep running pet

I started for similar reasons to you and I can honestly say I’ll never look back. My mental health is probably at the best it’s ever been, if I have a bad day then I’ll run and it’s had such a positive impact on my life

After the first week I never thought I would be one of the people on here that says they enjoy running and are powering through the weeks

But stick with it and it will happen. I’m about to finish week 5 and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been
