To say that I was apprehensive and nervous about starting Week4 is an understatement.

The grandfather of gremlins was out in full force....BUT I woke up today, brushed my teeth, hair back into a ponytail, slipped into my runners and was off.....before i had time to change my mind.

The sun was out, there was a light breeze and it promised to be a beautiful day - which, definitely, helped calm my mind.

First 3 mins were a doddle (because I'd done this before), next 5 mins were a tad bit harder but thank goodness for recovery walks!!! Next 3 mins were not so bad. But the last 5 mins (especially the final 4th and 5th min) were a killer.

However, I kept at it - focussing on Laura's instructions and my music...and I DID IT.....me, a complete non-runner 3 weeks ago, actually clocked 16 mins worth of "running".....wonders will never cease!!!!😲

With Week4 now demystified....I know have an idea of what to expect for my next 2 runs - I know I'll still be nervous, but if I could do it once, then surely I can do it again, eh???

This is my 4th week of C25k....and on top of my growing amazement at what I have achieved so far, my husband's reaction to my commitment has been the most amusing......I'm the laziest morning person ever....and he cannot, yet, get his head around me waking up early to go for a run....lol!!! Poor bloke is very confused!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I can only credit my lovely "running family" here for getting me this far with their words of encouragement and motivation......this community is a definite keeper!!!!😊

Much love, my peeps!!! 😍😍😍 Enjoy the weekend and keep running!!!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done!

And after expending all that energy early this morning you will bounce through the whole day energised by it. It makes no sense!

Enjoy the next one.

Well done! Fantastic work! I think other people’s reactions was a major part on my completion of the plan!

Hehehe!!! My husband's first comment when I told him I'm starting C25k was "oh ok....let's see how long this one lasts!!"

I think he's maybe now thinking....."blimey, she's not given it up yet......!!!!"

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£

Hilarious!!!

😊 Just go for it!!! The 5 mins seem long but in truth, it gets over just as you feel ready to give up and the recovery walks in between give you that break to get ready for the next one.

You'll be fine......trust the programme, it really works.

Good luckπŸ€ - let us know how you get on!!! πŸ‘

Thanks Lorijay!!!

It's great to get to that point where you are running more than you are walking 😊

Totally get that!!!! Wouldn't have lasted a day without my C25k family......!!!

What I love about this lovely community is that things like age, fitness levels, body type......none of it matters. Everyone understands that everyone is on their own unique journey with their own goals and motivation....it's not a race and it's only as competitive as you want it to be. And I'm a sucker for underdog success stories.....lol!!!

Strangely Week 4 has been my best week. And Week 4 Day 3 was my easiest most comfortable run yet. Bizarre.

I don't know, it felt like something settled in. I could feel myself -horror! unthinkable!- wishing the walking bit was a little shorter so I could get back to the running. (And let's be honest, be done quicker haha)

I know next week at this time will be a very different experience. Week 5 Day 3 looms large!

Good luck with the rest of the week, you can do it!

Ah....that gives me hope that I'll be ok for the next 2 runs.....thank you!!!!

I find it VERY bizarre that I'm actually looking forward to getting through each week......as normally the thought of any form of exercise/exertion has me "running" miles away......lol!!!

Great stuff that you've got the bug nice and proper!!!! 😊

That the way Hotheels, its one foot in front of the other. Well done and look forward to the next run cos every run you do make the next one easier.

Your getting healthier and fitter every day. πŸ‘

HotheelsGraduateβ€’ in reply to

I don't FEEL any fitter or any different as yet.....but I KNOW that I'm feeling better physically and mentally since I started......so, that will have to do for now.

Yes.....that's my mantra....one foot in front of the other, one run at a time 😊

As everyone quotes Oldfloss "slow and steady".........😊
