Hi guys, just like to introduce myself and get to know more about the facilities available on here.

I’m Eleanor, I’ve just started to do the Couch to 5K. I have a very hard time trying to focus and motivate myself.

I’d love to hear if anyone has any tips on how to achieve this.

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Post on here frequently and read all of the posts. You’ll come to know people and make virtual friends! Always slow down and slow down again. I did it so you can too!

Hi Tasha, thank you for responding.

What do you mean by slow down?

Just slow your speed down. Especially as you get through to the longer runs 👍🏽

Hi Eleanor, welcome! I agree with Tasha, just go slow. I’m just about to finish week 8 and I am going 4K in 28 mins which is my consistent pace.

Whenever I’m running & ask myself why I’m putting myself through this, I remember why I started. To get fit, trim down & have a hobby that I will (hopefully) learn to love.

Keep on keeping on, forward is forward. One foot in front of the other.

Good luck 😊✨

Welcome BakesE. Well you've started, so just carry on and believe in yourself. You can do it - just take it slow and steady, it's about building stamina, not speed. Enjoy, oh and smile, you got off the 'couch' 🌻

To me the important thing is to decide why you want to do this and hold onto that. For me part of it was just "finishing" after starting other fitness things and letting them drop off.

Having the 9 week target gives you a focus. Of course you'll get hooked along the way but that's just a useful add on! 😉

If you still can't motivate... imagine you promised your best friend or someone really important to you that you'd do this. Would you really let them down...? So why let yourself down?

I don't think I've yet seen a single person who has regretted doing the programme, even if eventually running wasn't for them. It's more than just about running as you'll soon see.

Good luck 👍😁
