It’s not often that we get really hot weather here in the mountains, but today was an exception with temps in the high twenties. At last I can empathise with the U.K. runners in the heatwave! W9R1 takes me along our valley as far as a cable-car station. It is relatively flat, which is why I chose it over the more hilly mountain route that I took for a couple of the week 8 runs. I arrive a hot, sweaty mess. Tourists look at me quizzically as I collapse onto a bench and guzzle my water.
That was definitely one of the toughest runs I've done. Heat seems to have a greater effect than hills. The good news is that there's a snack van here selling ice cream 🍦 I reckoned I'd earned one.
