Today I finished the 3rd run of week 1. Really getting into it and not struggling too much. Bit of slapstick today though, my run takes me through a lovely woodland which happens to be almost exactly 5 minutes walk from my door. On the second 1 minute run I spotted a deer which lifted my spirits. I didn't spot the tree root until I was face down with grazed knees and hands. Still no real harm done (and no one saw me) so carry on jogging! On arriving home I felt pretty good except for a grazed right knee and some muscle pain in my upper left arm (from an old work injury) so a bit Germoline on the knee and some heat spray on the arm and relax. Sitting in the back garden, getting my breath back, I wiped a little sweat from face. Warning don't wipe your eyes with stuff on your fingers it stings and it is a really bad idea.
Still a couple lessons learned and I'm very pleased with my progress. Tomorrow (rest day) I will stroll the woods looking for an alternative route.
A word for all newbies if I can do it you can, so please don't give up.
