Early out. No dramas. Sirens Hill taken to Start! by The Jam. Heavy legs due to poor hydration.
Fastest yet. 32 mins 53. 8’13/k average, probably due to a sprint for the last half k. Sweaty!!
England - woo!
Whatever you are running next, enjoy it.

You’re killing it of late - love it! Late run for me today 8am. 😬😬
Thanks.
I think I’m moving on from “will I make it” to “how quickly can I go and still be comfortable”. And looking upwards towards an earlier 10k has focussed my mind a fair bit!
I think the humidity is dropping this morning (is here) so may be warmer but more comfortable. Enjoy it 😁
Sounds like you've cracked it Jay, 👌top stuff.
Sounds like you had a great run despite the heavy legs - well done! Definitely cooler out there today, thankfully☺
More great work Jay, and your fastest time yet. Congratulations!
You're obviously feeling good 👍
Well done Jay! I’ve got Start! on my playlist too - good ‘un!
I’ve got really broad musical tastes but my adolescence was the new wave/mod revival/ska era. Always uplifting.
Madness is a fun one to run too as well isn’t it?! I was a bit more punk/new romantic but have everything from brass band to Disney and Black Sabbath to Tchaikovsky 😂 Loved starting Freebird one minute into the warmup walk, because you get to the rocking guitar bit just as you have to start running. 👍🏼
I did the pixie boots, frilly shirt and baggy pants thing as well. My dad drew the line at make up 🤣
Madness have a heap of cracking tunes. My downfall is I sing along to them and then realise. It puts me off my stride!
😂 loved pixie boots too! Watched the TOTP best of 1982 the other day and so many of those bands are still going. I couldn’t afford tickets first time around so I’m gradually catching up now. Adam Ant was amazing live - way better than on the records, even the OH enjoyed it and he only went along under protest 😁
Oh yeah I saw that Goody Two Shoes performance on TOTP the other night. I was a big fan.
Used to love Adam Ant when I was growing up. Had Prince Charming on cassette tape.
Quite apt for this program - Ridicule is nothing to be scared of!
Speedy jay your getting too fit my friend slow down for me for goodness sake lol 😁🏃🏃♀️😊
Oops sorry. You see a funny thing happened. I got chatted up at a bus stop yesterday by someone with an absolutely cracking smile. It seems to have given me a speed boost!
Ooh go you 😁😉😊
Keep running buddie 🏃hope you exchanged phone numbers 😉
Great run Jay xx
A while ago, right after my (2nd) graduation l had ‘heavy legs’ incident which really p......d me off. It’s so easy to drop guard and drink less but dehydration could lead to cramps and they could lead to an enforced break. Nobody likes those breaks. Then l got into habit of drinking water during the day, every day, having had no ‘heavy legs’ since. Admittedly, I’ve worked on their strength too. And as for my water intake under stress, l had two bottles during the match last night (forgive me Keith Richards, wherever you are, but I’ve got 8K to do this evening)...
I drank a moderate amount of water yesterday (but less than usual) and I was easy on the alcohol during the match. I think it was the double whiskey after the penalty shoot out!
Must do better.
Great time! well done!
Well done on upping your time and battling the heavy legs! Early starts are what work for me at the moment too, though I’ve taken to carrying a little water with me as well now I’m doing 30min runs. Nice to know I’ve got it, even if I don’t always use it. 😊❤️🏃♂️🏃♀️
At the start of the programme I carried a water bottle as a comfort blanket and never needed it.
Now I have a mouthful before I go out the door and have an already opened Lucozade Sport drink in the fridge for when I get back. (Yes, too much sugar. But I love the taste and don’t usually drink any fizzy drinks or squashes and only have this after a run.)
Great time Jay, 32.53, not long before you get a sub-30-minute run. I ran my 5th post grad run at just after 7 am today, the earliest I have started to avoid the heat later on in the day, I ran on the same route as R2W9 which meant that I did a U-turn at 15 minutes into the run, the difference was that I got to the half-way point two minutes earlier than W9R2, just shows that both of us are getting a little quicker in our general pace.
Well done you! 😊
Nice one Jay you sly dog, you! 👱🏻♀️💋 good run too!
???
If you smiled at me I’d take that post it note off you!
Sadly no sign of her this evening.
Well done Jay. Good luck with the 5K. I don't doubt you'll nail it
Amazing run Jay 😊
Well done Jay!
Wonderful Jay! Your plan is working. 😁
