Hello, Great to read all your posts. I should have finished week 9 last week but have continued to this week - last run to complete scheduled for Friday. Can't believe I have done it but all on treadmill in gym and although I have my parkrun pass ready I'm nervous of attempting my first one and may leave it a while until the weather cools a little!!! My problem is although my friend did the ct5k and lost LOADS of weight it hasn't made a difference to me and I really need to lose weight, although it has given me lots of stamina as I danced the socks off everyone at a recent wedding I attended!! I've joined a slimming club but I suppose cutting out the wine\beer would help me too! I can't wait to get my PASS from Laura and I hope to continue with the 3 x 30 mins run per week for the time being and the pods to see if they will help. Any imput from anyone would be great. Many thanks - can't believe I'm now classified as a runner!!! Cheers x

Hi JOP, Welcome to the forum and Good luck with your Graduation run on Friday.😊 You will do it...

As far as losing weight, now you are doing 30 minute runs regularly you should start to tone up and lose inches.

Many of us find that we reward ourselves for our running by having a little treat/ drink (leading to treats)... and we aren't really burning enough calories to warrant weight loss, but maybe enough to stay the same...

You would probably find running outside a bit more challenging than on the treadmill (putting in an incline makes it more comparable)...and now you are running for 30 minutes (👍) may find it more interesting outside.

Could you mix it up and try an outside run. Nobody really takes any notice of us runners and have no idea how long your run has been. You could have been doing a HM!😆

This will give you a bit more practise before having a go at Parkrun too.

You have done an amazing job to get to your Graduation week...reward yourself with some fun running gear..a cap, sunglasses...wireless headphones, a running buff... and embrace the new you!

Hope this is helpful😊xxx

Well done you... Bluebirdrunner has given you some great advice...I would just say..maybe vary your run distance... and try to get some done outside... 30 mins.. yes, but some shorter ones too... get a lot of runs in maybe before Park run:)

Keep cool and head out early! Give it a go:)

On the weight loss, I lost minimal weight whilst on the early weeks but since about W8 it started to come off very slowly. I’m now calorie counting too and I lost just over 3lbs last week, which was my first full week of trying.

This is with three longer runs each week. Keep at it and beware the alcohol calories!
