W9R2, nearly there...!

Glorious seafront run today, W9R2. Average pace was slightly better than the last run, but felt like I was plodding slower as it’s been a week since my last run. Just couldn’t get manage to fit in an hour of it with a busy work week, although I did some short sharp walks for exercise.

Inner left shin was a bit heavy. Perhaps I should fit in some smaller runs if I can’t manage to squeeze in the time for a full run.

What with warm up, warmdown, stretching ,endorphin buzz & shower,it takes me about 1.5 hours for it all. If I’m washing my hair, longer.

Loving it, tho.

Of course you can do shorter runs! A shorter run counts, it’s still a run 😀. After you graduate, it’s good to mix up your runs, anyway.

I had my hair cut short to cope with the after run showers 😂. 1 minute to wash it, two minutes to dry it! I’m not usually pushed for time as I’m retired, but I like the ease of having short hair.

Thanks for the encouragement, onwards and upwards! I couldn’t bear to waste a run and not count it towards the C25K schedule, which is what stopped me from the shorter runs!! 😃 which meant I then left it a week, so would’ve been better to run a shorter one.

That’s dedication, cutting your hair short to ease the post run time.👍🏼

I don’t know if this helps, but when I was fitting running around full-time work sometimes I found it helpful to run in the space in between work and home. I would take my kit to work, changed just before I left, run somewhere on the way home and then go home to shower. It did away with all that between work & home faffage! 😂

I was given this idea by a colleague who changed and exercised immediately after work every day.

I also found that if I wanted to run a route from home, a “turnaround in under 10 minutes” rule for myself worked really well too. I made sure I was well hydrated at work, had my running gear all together in one place so I could dash in, change and dash straight out again. 😄

Well done you and well done for getting out there again and not giving up😁. I was laughing to myself about the length of time the run/shower etc takes....all very familiar...so pleased I'm retired, don't know if I'd have the time otherwise🤣😂🤣. Look after your shins, well ....and all the rest of you!! Shorter runs sounds like a good alternative if you're finding it difficult to get out. As I'm constantly reminded (and quite rightly so)....this isn't a competition ... It's about forming a really healthy habit. Make it work for you.👍👍🏃‍♀️🙋
