A parcel was waiting for me with my new Under Armour shorts and gloves.
The shorts have an abstract silvery/grey pattern all over them which is quite reflective and a very reflective logo on the front right. Slash pockets with no fastenings (boo!) but a narrow inner pocket in the right hand one for a mobile (fits my iPhone 8 perfectly). Drawstring waist. Mesh lining (which I’m not sure about as I wear Lycra undershorts). Means they would double as swimmers.
The gloves are “Run Liner Gloves” and can be worn alone or inside warmer ones. Not extremely thin nor thick. Mesh on the fingers and thumbs for using phones. Top of the index finger and thumb is a “soft, anti-microbial wipe zone” for nose/mouth.
No rainbows or unicorns were harmed or imitated in the manufacture of these products 🤣

I mouth breath too and also my nose runs!! Weird!! But I just use my hand 🤚 nice 👍 then wipe said snoted hand across my bum cheek 😬 it must look like a snail or two has slithered across my bum, but then I do run as slow as a 🐌😁 ha ha
I do get it, honestly. But you ladies make yourselves suffer so much.
So your legs have imperfections? So what. Your run is like a river flowing or a radio show playing. That moment when you pass someone vanished and the memory is not of veins or cellulite or lumps. It’s “a runner” and the detail has gone.
You know that bit in Shirley Valentine with the spiel about stretch marks? That.
You like them? Wear them! You wear them for yourself, to make yourself comfortable when running. When l run I mind my own business, wouldn’t notice you if you wore a table cloth (with all due respect, l just stare ahead, never meet an eye). ;).
You think people go out to look at us?! Just wear them.
When did you graduate c25k? What was your first 5k time? Sorry. Been reading your profile. Hoping I’ll keep improving but progress is slow. 31:57 (5.2k ParkRun) want sub 30. Graduated April. Never ran until February!
I know you Jay! I was asking MarkyD 😂 wondered his progress as he seems to have graduated years ago. Interested in how much we’ll continue to improve. Although, of course, I’m very interested in you too 👌🏽😂
I think that I graduated in 2014... it was a long time ago. Have run parkruns and 5km and 10k's since then. My 'graduation' time was just under 30 minutes and my work colleague flogged me at parkrun one Saturday and I achieved a PB of 25:23 I think it was. I still lurk about on here....
Nice! I must say I’m tempted to get running shorts. However I’m 60 and have chunky thighs so maybe that’s a no go but it’s a nice thought! I’ll stick to capris I think.
I tried to wear shorts once, years ago: all they did was ride up the inside of my (ample) thighs and chafe. That was NOT a good look! I’m comfy in my just-over-the-knee running leggings for now, but long for the day I can comfortably run in shorts.
