Wasn't up for it tonight. OH wasn't coming out, spent past few days working on the teen's hair-do, (It involved lots of bleach and pink and more than a little stress!), too much sun (back is burnt to a crisp as I hadn't been able to get out of the sun one the burning become noticeable) and my new earphones had run out of power. Everything said forget it, 2 runs this week is plenty!
But I knew HoagyM had been out and I'd already said I'd be on his heels once the temp came down. Also, Ripcurlrana71 would be bitterly disappointed in me, so I pulled my trainers on and off I went.
So indecisive with the freedom to do any podcast I wanted rather than agree something with my OH, I eventually decided to do the Stamina, which I'd planned to delay until I was comfortable with the others. After a good chat with Mummycav and Rip I thought I'd just go for it!
Struggled during the last 5 mins, but not overly so. Achieved 6 PR's and discovered after a slight change in my usual route that there was a Strava segment. I completed the segment 3rd all-time (women) with a (segment) pace time of 5:35 km ๐ฎ
Still didn't manage a sub-30 5K, but getting ever-closer!
Was elated when I finished, but gutted that my OH wasn't there to share it with. ๐ข
Sure is, the thing is though, what may seem small and insignificant to others can be pretty big and impressive to us. You should feel chuffed.
I don't want to sound kinda silly here, but where did the challenge Stamina come from ? Is it part of a post 5k running program? I'm just going out and running either 5k or 30 minutes, depending on whether I feel like running a few more minutes to get to 5k when I finish 30minutes.
Great, for me that is unbelievable! I've had a couple of <6 km's, but that might be another personal best. Didn't even know it existed until I was reading my achievements afterwards!
Anyway, that's enough stroking my own ego for tonight ๐ Just super-pleased with my efforts (bet you hadn't guessed!) ๐๐๐
At least you didn't get lost - that's my speciality! Did it again on my walk this afternoon (without any GPS) and ended up having to climb over a gate having trespassed on school grounds ๐
We're never, ever, going to get anywhere near these Charlie's Angels!! They have taken this programme out back, beaten it up, nicked its dinner money and gone off to buy beer.
So proud of you Sharron!!!!! Firstly well done for getting out there and secondly for doing so amazingly well!!!! 6 PRโs and a 5km PB? You donโt need your OH at all. ๐ x
Alka, she's a living nightmare. Comes up with a weird and wonderful plan and then expects me to manage it. Won't go to hairdressers, not when she can just get me to do it. This week she mostly wanted pastel pink. Her last colour was brown with lots of (fashion) red hues. So I had to bleach it first. First attempt didn't lift enough and she refused to wait the requisite 2 weeks minimum, shoving some YouTube authority under my nose where some people leave it in overnight ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ Picked up a milder one and didn't cook it for long. Pink went over that. Standing for hours as she has extremely thick, curly, long hair. Hard blooming work!
๐๐๐ I think being the only person I know who graduated C25k with a 5k in 30 mins means youโre pretty awesome too. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
I just go outside and run about a bit in an more-or-less uncontrolled way and think daft things. But you guys are a freaking machine, I tell you, a machine!! xxx
We're all leaders here!! But you, Sharron, have now appeared on a list of All Time (Women). Which is where we all knew you belonged in the first place!!
I'm nauseatingly thrilled and chuffed for you!! C.'mon. Let's hear it for Sharron one more time!! xxx
It's just the thought of being 3rd place all-time women... that's when I know I must live out I the sticks where competition is thin on the ground, but hey, I'm not knocking it!!!
Whoop whoop Hidden ...thatโs fantastic....love it when everything comes together...& itโs even more satisfying when we have to push ourselves that little bit more at the end....well done chick x
For these Charlie's Angels Superstars!! Who do an inter-continental run before breakfast and then foil a major drug operation and still have time for a bit of hoovering and scraping dye off the bathroom walls in the evening.
Meanwhile, you chicks. Just roll with the assorted teenage odd years. Been there, done that, got the teeshirt. My two went the panoply of long, short, semi-shaved, pink, purple, blue (many varieties), bleach, then tattoos, various piercings, you name it.
Now they're a bit grown-up (20 and 23) they have calmed down and become sensible (almost) human beings and credit to their long-suffering mother. I've stopped sighing too
At least now you're in a position to run away from them. But you'll just have to deal with the hair-dye/bathroom walls/towels problem for a while
Tell me about it, but worse thing is, I once got shocking red dye on the bathroom wall myself so any time she makes a mess I get the look that says "YOU should know, it's easy done!"
Not looking forward to the time she's age enough (or procures fake ID) to get a tattoo. ๐
