I wasn’t feeling it, my calves were tight to start.
First 5 mins was yeuk, then next 5 fine, then it got hard again so decided to distract myself from how far there was left to run by going off piste - I left the park and crossed the railway line at the crossing and headed out through the residential roads intending to run out and back.
On the way back the car that I had remembered as being opposite the tiny track back over the railway had inconveniently driven away. I knew I had passed the path by now so the only route back into the park was up and over the pedestrian bridge at the station! 3 sets of stairs up and down 😩 that was a killer and I didn’t run it! Finish was stronger - not a pretty run but it’s done! ✅

Well you say that - you should have heard the internal dialogue going on - good job it was in my head or I’d be certified.
I too admire other people who just run, it sounds so liberating, so I really wanted to break free so left the safety of the park and was thinking ‘what could go wrong? I’ll just finish somewhere ?? and then walk home and keep walking till the 5 mins are up’, then my naughty little chimp was saying ‘no you have to finish in the park’. 🙊🐒
But I’m being more impulsive now and that monkey is going to be taught to behave!
Those chimps are naughty little blighters, my chimpy gets lose sometimes and creates havoc!! When this happens lucky i'm either not put in a straight jacket or Police cell ..lol Well done getting through a difficult run.
