Week 7 Run 1 Complete :-)

What a beautiful morning for a run, breezy and sunny, ran along the bank of the canal, its great to get away from the traffic and the exhaust fumes, although I did have to avoid 2 packs (not sure of the collective term) of fierce geese on route who all stuck their tongues out a hissed at me :-). I was a little apprehensive this morning because at the end of Week 6 run 3 (Monday), I managed to hurt my achilles tendon, so made sure that I stretched before starting and luckily it seems OK, I was fully expecting to be in pain again. I think a major part of running regularly is getting your muscles and tendons used to the pounding, hopefully mine is beginning to get used to it. Because of my achilles I set out to run more slowly today, somehow I still managed to run 5.1K in 25 minutes, I know I should slow things down, taking the advice of previous graduates of this programme, but I just seem to get into a rhythm, admittedly though the last 5 minutes are tough.

Hope everyone else has a great run today, cheers!

Well done! I'm terrified of all birds so that would've made me run quicker lol!

5.1k in 25 mins is quick! I did wk 8 r2 today and managed 5.3km including the walks!

You're doing great, hope your injury is behind you now

Thanks llynnnn, Sounds like you are doing great as well! How was the transition from 25 minutes running to 28 minutes, did it make much difference?

I didn't enjoy my first 28min run, I felt I never really found my stride the whole way through so struggled. run 2 was much better and didn't actually seem any longer than the previous week that I'd got used to, hope the next jump next week is the same...
