I am doing c25k to loose weight initially but to tone up as well.
I know weight loss has more to do with diet. At present I am eating roughly 45% carbs, 30% fat and 25% protein with a 700 calorie deficit of what my daily calorie allowance should be to loose 1.5lb a week (according to my Fitbit and My Fitness Pal)
Is/has anyone doing/done this and can see visible changes to their body with weight loss? Very interested to know.
Any before and after couch to 5K photos would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hiya - I recently completed the C25k programme, doing it on top of a fairly active (mainly walking/hiking/golf) regime, and have steadily lost around a pound a week, 10 pounds lost in total since mid-April, without needing to restrict my diet in any way, which I think is great
Hoping the weight loss will continue at that sort of rate, as I do longer and longer runs.
Since April I've lost 18lbs. Im using myFitnessPal calculations for losing 1lb a week, so a defecit of around 500 calories which just seemed more sustainable to me and has allowed a few treats here and there to keep me going. I started C25k in April and am due to finish week 8 this weekend, although it's taken me 10 weeks to get this far between repeating a few runs and holidays. I've tried more extreme diet changes in the past and while they work, I've found the weight slowly creeps back on as bad habits return, I'm planning to keep this up as a lifestyle change rather than just a diet and will soon up my daily calorie intake to maintain. As well as C25k I've tried to be more active generally too, taking stairs, walking more etc. Regardless of weight loss though, I'd definitely recommend this programme just to feel better and get fitter, with any weight loss just a happy side effect.
Hello there and congratulations on taking your first steps (runs) to good health.
I have been doing a diet/fitness programme very similar to yours since December 7th 2017 (yes I know the date 😊).
Using the Fitbit app and the Fitbit Aria scales, I chose a 1000 calorie deficit. Of course, I didn’t / don’t achieve that deficit every day, far from it. But it’s a target and targets are good, right?
Coupling the diet with an increase in my daily activity, the weight did come off and it felt good. But I wasn’t doing C25K, just my normal tennis and trying to walk more.
And this is where C25K comes in: the programme has really helped keep the weekly weight average on the downward trend with minimal effort.
In the first five months of the diet *before* C25K I lost 15kg. In the almost five weeks since starting C25K I have lost a further 5kg. I have just done W5R2 tonight and really enjoyed it.
So you can see, C25K has *increased* the rate of weight falling off my hips and from round my organs.
The thing is, I couldn’t have done C25K at the beginning. I needed to lose some weight first. I don’t know if that’s the same for you. Maybe you aren’t as heavy as I was back in December!
I don’t have any before or after photos but all I know is, all my clothes are too big and my BMI has gone from 31.6 to 23.8.
Good luck and stick with it. There will be ups and downs but the Fitbit app is brilliant in my opinion, and C25K is changing my life. I hope it changes yours.
