That was really hard and I walked a couple of secs a couple of times. Suffering hot flushes big style at the moment 🍅.
I’m wondering about shoes and how bouncy they should be - mine aren’t at all really - I just bought some that were half price in sports direct as I didn’t know if I’d even get to the end of week 1. Is the hype real? I have a friend who was traveling the country to get a specific shoe (he’s a running club member).
On a positive though I was about 20s/km quicker than last time I did this run. Young blokes are still whizzing past me and there was a glut of cocker spaniels out this morning 🐶

If you’ve got the available cash, I would really recommend getting a gait analysis and a good pair of shoes - they’re the only proper bit of kit that you really *need* for running, so it’s usually worth the investment. I started in an old pair of trainers from the last time I used to run (in case I quit!), but it made a big difference to my comfort when I got a new pair of shoes c. 5 weeks ago.
I started with trainers I wore at the gym. Then had gait analysis done and got the recommended trainers. I almost fainted at the price but after the first wear I knew I’d made a good investment. No, they didn’t improve my time or anything magical like that, but they felt so much better, gave a bit of bounce and were so much more comfortable , I felt I was running better. Plus, after forking our for them, there was no way I was going to quit 😂
