W2 Repeat runs

So I made it through week one with only some aching knees and thighs. I was feeling rather good about this running lark. Then Week two was just not happening. I could do 70 seconds and no more! My calf’s and hamstrings are very tight and I was in agony, but I did not want to give up so I powered through doing my 70 and then 80 seconds for one go. I decided to repeat week two for an extra week and yeasterday I managed to run the whole lot of each run. I’m going to repeat again this week and build up to week3. Never thought I’d say it but I’m actually enjoying the running, not so much the pain in my knees and calf’s, but hey I’m over weight and haven’t done much exercise for most of my adult life, but I’m determined to keep going!

It sounds like you need to stretch, but also learn not to try to run through agony.

Enjoy your journey.
