So after my highlight of running in Central Park on Saturday I dragged myself out of bed and headed to the beach. (My body was still in NY time of 2am!)
I wasn’t up for it but knew I had to get this first one out the way to get my head back into gear. Couldn’t even see the seafront for the mist!! Was a good thing though as I couldn’t see my usual KM markers so had to keep going.
I found it hard! After 2km just wanted to stop. But kept pushing and miraculously did 5k. Just to be clear I wanted to give up at every KM after 2. Just wasn’t feeling it. But now I’m so pleased I did it - hoping next run will be a tad easier and maybe even enjoyable! ☺️
Happy running everyone - watch out for those gremlins!

It’s Strava and get on well with it. Got the free version. Like to track my pace and tells me everytime I hit a KM. It silences your music to give you that info so you don’t need to hold your phone to keep checking!
Might be wrong, but looks like Strava Ripcurlrana71 ? I use it too and it's probably the best of them. You have to accept that's there's none of them perfect, but it's more accurate than others... and I've tried 'em all!! 😂
Nice to have you back and well done on getting out there. I bet the next run will be easier. You might need a day or two to recover and let your body get used to the time adjustment. I'm off to France this morning and plan to do a run this evening (even though it'll be hot). Hope to do a 5km on Sunday and go for croissants afterwards
That is a great pace - especially considering you weren't feeling it! Think I might download Strava on to my son's phone. Mapmyrun seems a bit innaccurate. We used it on the Parkrun course the other day and it said we'd done 2.5k a long way before the turning point!
Good god!! You are like a rocket, woman!!! There’s me quite chuffed cos I managed to get my 5k down to 39 minutes!!! Haha! Still it was only my second one so things can only get better.
I’m just chuffed I can run for that long 😁. It was weird I felt I was struggling to get to the end of the 3 x 30 min runs then my first run out after the disastrous graduation run I just felt like Forrest Gump and just wanted to keep going, so I did and ran for 40 mins!! First 5k. Then the next 2 were only 25 mins long, then 2nd 5k. Depends on the day I think definitely
