Also, if you complete runs don't repeat them Move on steadily and slowly...Try to move gently and lightly... warm up really well and stretch after every run.
Thanks for the information, it’s really helpful. The pain is located on the inside edge of my knees and lower shin. I have taken ibuprofen now which has eased it. I have decided to leave it a few days before I run again, so I plan my next run on Saturday; hopefully I will be recovered enough to manage the run.
I did stretches and a good warm up walk before my run this morning and thought the pain would run off, it didn’t get worse but I struggled with the last two 60 second runs, just about making it.
I have to remember that I am 49 (soon to be 50) overweight and very unfit so the whole couch to 5k was never going to be easy; besides no pain, no gain!
