A couple weeks ago I tripped and ended up on the IC... well my ankle has felt good for a few days now and I'm feeling ready to head back out! I'm planning to start with an easier 10-15 mins before I really go for it and get back to week 8. However... my motivation is nowhere to be seen! I'm coming up with all kinds of excuses as to why I can't get out there... other things I need to do, it's too hot, I'm going to injure myself again. How do I get myself back into a good rhythm? I didn't expect this, as the first few days without running I was really missing it.
Hmm... now that I'm writing this, I think that's the problem... I'm expecting to *want* to go. Guess I need to put it on the calendar, lay out my kit and get on with it like I did in the beginning.

I remember feeling this when I had a dodgy knee a few weeks ago, you’re right though by making a date with your trainers and not standing them up!!! Slow and steady as Oldfloss rightly tells us as this really helped me. Let us know how you got on after your first run back! 🏃♀️
You’ve got it figured out and have a great plan. The motivation will come back after you’ve gone out for a few runs. Keep the first (couple?) runs with little pressure, just get out and see how it feels.
