Hello All.

I am really proud to be able to run 20 minutes outside and so tried the treadmill for the 25 minute one....I was really disappointed to see I was way below the 5k in this time. I dont think I am really slow...steady jogging really. Do I worry about the time or distance??

Thank you!

Lovely little kitten you have 'kmaggs' no, don't worry about timing, just do the runs slow and steady, if you were doing a 5k, 40 or more minutes is OK, take your time, do not worry about speed at this time, anyway, they say it's better running outside than inside on a treadmill unless the weather is really bad.

Nice kitty!

Duration, duration, duration.

Not distance. Not speed. Not pace.

Just duration. Once your legs can carry you for 30 minutes that's the point maybe to think about distance/speed/pace/cadence

Think duration and think Slow. Slow is our friend 😁

Don’t be disapointed you’ve done fantastically. I’m not sure if this helps but for me the program has always been about duration not speed. I graduated recently, managed the runs without getting too tired -but just knew if l upped my speed my knees wouldnt thank me and l would end up hurting myself . You’re buiding runners legs -Give them time to grow and they’ll last!

25 min 5k would be fast especially as a beginner runner. I am ecstatic if I get sub 30 my pb is 28.22.

I have been running 5 years on and off. Think more about being able to run consistently for longer a side effect will be improved pace and distance over time.
