Brockenhurst recommendations...?

Hi all, I’m staying by Brockenhurst cricket green, celebrating my in-laws big birthday at a nice hotel... and have a dilmemma - tomorrow is my C25K graduation run, I don’t know the area and I can’t skip out for long...

Can anyone suggest a nice cross country loop for a 5k run within 10 minutes drive from here...?

Thanks in advance

.

Sorry can't help but what about asking at the hotel a Reception - they might have some local routes, leaflets etc. Or can you have a look on google earth? That's what I do for my runs in France.

Have a lovely time at the celebrations.

Great advice from AnnieW. I’d be gobsmacked if the hotel does not have a variety of running routes. Guests ask for running routes all the time at most hotels.

If that does not work, try walkjogrun.co.uk.

Lots of great running, cycling and dog walking in the New Forest and definitely within less than 10 mins drive. Have a look on walkjogrun website or the hotel will have maps most probably as others have said. Watch out for the New Forest ponies though!

Lovely area! 🏃‍♂️🐴

Download Maverick. It is an app that will give you free access to Ordnance Survey maps. Great for planning runs or walks.

Wilverley enclosure - it’s the Brockenhurst winter parkrun route and lovely in the forest but a bit hilly in parts. There are plenty of enclosures in New Forest also good for running.

Thanks everyone! MarkyD - I took your advice and asked at reception. Her eyes lit up as she enthused about her runs in the morning here. She wheeled out a huge folder of printed maps and suggested one called Standing Hat Woodland hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/cou...

All done and now graduated!
