Faced with my first outdoor jog this morning because of current health advice, I didn’t want to ruin my nice clean gym trainers so resorted to my ‘walking’ trainers which are karrimor ones. If the outdoor jogging is going to continue, any tips on what makes a good trainer for outdoors?
Thanks in advance!

A good running shoe makes a big difference. Finding the right shoe isn’t as simple as getting a recommendation from someone more experienced. The best way to find your perfect shoe is to visit your local specialist running store for gait analysis. Hopefully, with the current issues we face this is still happening. Some of the price tags can be scary, but they’re the best investment you can make on your running journey. Most stores have bargains available and they should discuss your budget as part of the process. With big marathons being cancelled at the moment, you may find that their end of spring season sales come forward somewhat too, many shops will be carrying more stock than they’ll be needing and the shoe companies will still have their latest shoes ready for summer training/autumn event season.
Hi BQ like you I ran outdoors in my karrimors, ok they did a job, but they just weren't up to longer grown up runs, advice find a proper running shop...I used up and running... Free gait analysis and advice off staff that run.. I opted for the brooks brand of trainers..... Read reviews prior so I was glad they were recommended 🙂
Used to be I wouldn’t set foot in any kind of sports shop for fear of bursting into flames but here I am looking for a good one! Don’t know who I am anymore haha
Very important to have the proper shoes for outdoor running, get a gait analysis done and recommendations for proper shoes suitable for outdoors! By the way, you might find that running outdoors is not just rewarding but, in my opinion, it is far better for your health too!
