Given the all-clear to leave IC 😊

So just over 2 weeks ago my ankle swelled up after completing Run 3 of Week 3. Ankle pain followed and after a visit to my GP I was told I needed to rest for 2 weeks as I’d probably done a little too much too soon, but luckily no serious damage. I’m following my GP’s advice and going back a week so tomorrow I will, very gently, take on Run 1 of Week 2, again. Feeling a little apprehensive but also really looking forward to getting back out there! 😊😊

Good luck BlondeAmbition. If you have any more problems it might be worth seeing a sports physio. I went to see one this week and now have a set of daily exercises to improve the movement of my left ankle and strengthen the ligaments. πŸ‘£πŸ‘

Can you put your weight on that ankle when you are standing? Any unusual sensations? Tweaks? Dull pain, deep inside? Can you roll it around? Touch and push the previous pain spot without any hurting? If yes to any of it, don't run yet.

As for GPs, they are not really proper 'go-to' when it comes to that business. That's why we've got physios and osteopaths.

....lol... Don't push send before checking the post first ;) Was meant to say, if yes to 2, 3 and 4 :)

It feels absolutely fine. The last couple of days I’ve been doing a few exercises, like rolling my ankles, standing on my toes, balancing on one leg and it’s felt fine. I’m aware GP’s aren’t specialists in running injuries ordinarily but mine is a running β€˜freak’ lol and has lots of expertise in this area, or so he says πŸ€”πŸ‘..
