Well this morning I took on my first long run. I went thinking that I would just do as much as possible doing my usual super slow snail pace and see what happened. We didn't exactly know what route to take and when we came to a dead end 10 minutes in I was really starting to feel it, especially knowing that the only way back to where we started involved hills. But we pushed on.
Imagine my surprise to be told I had just 90 seconds left and still had enough left in me fora 10 second sprint finish!! I had done it. 20 minutes of non-stop running in public with hills and I was still alive!
Looking to forward to my next run on Tuesday.... might actually be quite liking this running malarkey....maybe... just a little!
Thank you! I've seen a few posts about people becoming overly confident, I'll keep to my usual snail pace...as not sure I can go faster if I tried haha!!
For me it was less “over confidence” and more my legs running away with me, like my top half was chasing after puppy legs below me! I’m sure you’ll do great.
