Tough start

W5r1 completed ok. Does anyone else find that the first run in a session is the hardest? Tonight I was struggling in the first 5 mins, but coasted the rest. Thinking back, it’s been the same since week 1, the first minute was tough but after that - all good! Is it just me?

It’s officially toxic at the start of a run! For me, it takes me 2k to get into a run. I think lots of people call it the toxic 10 or 20 minutes.

Not sure about only in run 1 though 🤷🏽‍♀️ I found 2 harder: complacent after the elation of run 1!

Definitely, but it does improve. I have found that starting really slow helps.

Yep... you're not the only one. Same here too.

I did w5r1 this morning and the 1st 5 minutes was the hardest for me too.

Well none of it is ever easy but the 1st run was definitely the most uncomfortable.

Wishing you well with your future runs.

Yes Katiepops, I graduated this week and I always find the first 5 minutes is the slowest . On w9r3 I was begging Jo Whiley to say my first 5 mins was over. After that I am fine. Why I do not know - maybe the body is just getting used to it again.
