Oh yes - this is the wonderful shop I got my gait analysis done in. They were a chain called Sweatshop who had been taken over by Sports Direct (worst retailer in the world IMO). Totally ripped me off then wouldn't refund me for the trainers even though they had turned my toes black. Company policy indeed - is that even legal?
I’ve been stung with that before from them. Although did get a bit of a deal when I purchased trainers for my daughter and went in couple days later for something else to find the trainers were reduced by a fair amount - spoke to the nice bloke in shop who suggested taking back the trainers get a credit and then buy the reduced ones 😀 worked and ended up not paying anything for the other stuff I was looking at.
If the purchase is “not fit for purpose” then by law, you are entitled to a full refund. Try going back, ask to see the manager and mention to him that as the garment is see through it is therefore NOT for for purpose, also mention citizen advice/consumer credit act. Also mention that you have a very large Facebook and Twitter following, see what that does, if no joy get on there account on both and let the world know!!
Sorry to read this. I have to say that I will not buy anything from Sports Direct as the way they treat their staff seems to be appalling. I live quite near their Shirebrook hub and they are often in the local news for bad treatment of employees. It's a bit annoying as they do low-priced running kit, but I'm lucky that I don't have to buy from here, so I won't.
