We all know how the positive and motivational support of this forum keeps us going, but today, I discovered that bit of righteous indignation also works quite well...
The first 14 minutes were taken at a steady pace.
Mental activity: tutting in a mildly disgruntled fashion.
Around 15 minutes in, the playlist switches to 'Tainted Love', Soft Cell.
Mental activity: 'Whaddaya mean your phones are out of battery/Messenger is for oldies/No one emails anymore...Why can't you just let me know you're OK - then I wouldn't have to worry....'
At 18 minutes, playlist changes to 'Freedom', George Michael.
Mental activity: 'I used to be free - until I was shackled by my choices. Do you think I chose this body? No! It came about through years of neglect raising your sorry, non-communicating ar*es. Why do you think I'm doing this? For the good of my health?...oh actually that bit's true....but...but...I might just keep on running for ever... and then who would deal with your financial/organisational/ girlfriend problems, huh?
At 23 minutes: 'Born to be wild', Steppenwolf.
Mental activity: 'I was born to do this. I'm never going to stop. I reclaim my life. You're damn right I'm wild! I am a runner. I am one angry Mutha!'
*telephone rings*
"Hello darling - how lovely to hear from you! Of course I can 'lend' you some money....."
Sigh. I love my children really.
