Struggling with the last 10 mins, on came the original long version of American Pie (my son's Old School playlist) well thank you Don McLean! Did you write the book of love and do you believe in God above....for the next 7 minutes or however long it is I positively bounced along! It's the perfect beat to lift my pace off the bottom rung and almost make me skip! (Not a pleasant vision, wobbly skipping, obese tortoise) and then amazingly, just as the beat slowed down at the end, Jo told me how fantastic I am -and how far I've come -that's true anyway, and then as it was time for warm down, on came David Gray's Babylon - perfect for the brisk walk. And I think he's in vogue again isn't he? Anyway, what a serendipitous penultimate run (yeah I'm going to take up big words now I can run) - never to be repeated as the playlist was on Shuffle. Oh well!
One to go! Countdown starts, end within grasp! All of you struggling with the early weeks, you will get here too! Even without pies tortoises and ladders!

Well done Ajay99! Sounds like a fabulous 🏃♀️ Run! The difference certain songs make is amazing! It’s a great journey, only one more to go till graduation 🎓 🥂🍾
Your playlist is on loop in my head now! (Well those 2 songs anyway!) I think I’ll start a playlist of recommended songs! I ran to a podcast of Sara Cox sitting in for Chris Evans and she played some corkers! M-People Moving on up!, Wham! Wake me up before you Go-Go.......just what you need on the penultimate run. Good luck with your last one!
Haha sorry about that! But they are great songs! Have been meaning to create a running playlist that suits me but haven't got round to it yet, there are some references on this forum to good playlists I think. Definitely helps to have the right music!
Great post and very well done indeed... strange how the right music can pep us up and spur us on... all different tunes for all of us.
On my 10K run on Friday...( first one since climbing off the IC) I had ABBA... and a lyric clicked in, "..just one more mile ".
I am loving the 'Serendipitous penultimate run'... Serendipity is on of my favourite words On you go and cruise melodically towards that podium...the badge awaits
Aww thank you, all the encouragement really helps just add in the music and all is possible! There is an ice cream shop/cafe in NYC called Serendipity they serve amazing sundaes and desserts - no good for us runners but a great name for such offerings! I'm looking forward to my valedictory run!
Surely you deserve an ice cream from that ice cream shop/cafe in NYC called Serendipity or a sundae/dessert AFTER you run a 5 or 10k, you can relax and enjoy that after the run
Sorry, I thought you lived there and could pop in after you have your run, nevertheless, all of us who run whatever distance deserve some sort of treat after we have completed his/her run. (did you see some of the pictures of yesterday's London Marathon, seems half of the runners were in a state of collapse due to the 24.1c heat, they should have been in Glasgow near to where I live, the temperature was 15c)
Somewhere on today's 'healthunlocked.com' website 23/4/2018, I said that I was about to complete week 1 round 3 of C25K, I have just done that and am taking 1 day off before starting week 2.
