Any afternoon Park runs?

All this talk about park runs makes me feel like I would love to do one ... when I’m ready haha.

But they do seem to be all morning runs. Near me anyway.

I work nights, and I’m afraid, with the best will in the world, after getting home between 4 or 6 in the morning, there is no way I could make a morning run.

Does anyone know if afternoon runs actually exist?

Aw bugger. Ah well, I’ll have to do my own park run then 😏. That’s a few weeks off yet though 😂

I think I read on the parkrun information somewhere that there is a way of running the route and logging it at a time to suit you. Obviously means you don’t get the sense of being with loads of other runners though. You could do one also when you have a holiday and even if you are away or abroad, as they are everywhere.

Yes. Have looked it up. Register with park run. Run a parkrun route and time it. Then go to your results in your registration area and add it in Freedom Runs page.

Yip, I asked about that and they said because in Winter it was still dark further north at 9.00

Mostly they start at 9 am Saturday morning. Sometimes earlier starts in hotter climates.

As they are all staffed and run by volunteers it’s understandable that a Saturday morning is a good time. It also means many runners are able to attend.

Do you have 'Great Run Local' near you? I think they start at 11am on a Sunday!

I’ve just googled this and no, there’s none near me. I’ve not heard of this one so I will keep an eye on it in case any more venues are added

Thank you x

Yes park runs all start at 9 but you can do what's called a freedom run and log on the site. You basically time yourself running the park run route. Only thing about that is you don't have the cheering and support that gets me round! Inlike running as part of the massive group. There are lots of running clubs that run in the evenings as an alternative.
