My buddy bailed, it was raining but it wasn’t as bad as expected. It was hard but not really any harder than the previous hards (if that makes sense).
I was flagging at 18mins and all of you lovely people also on week 5 were my motivation- I’ve been reading all your posts saying you’d completed w5r3 and I didn’t want to be the odd one out!
I used the Fitbit to map the run as suggested - much better!
Looking pretty bedraggled here - I went to the hairdresser this afternoon although you’d never know 🙄😂

Congratulations!! That's amazing. How do you feel? proud of yourself? you should do.
How do you use Fitbit to map your run? I use mapmyrun?
Went and had my gait analysis today and got some better trainers. I'm a little behind this week with the bank holiday and work, so just done W5R2. Run 3 is Sunday... eeeek!! Although 8 mins was easier than expected.
You’ll be great! It went quicker than I expected- I kept telling myself it’s a mental challenge as much or more than a physical one, think how furious with myself I’d be if I gave up
This is what I sent critter before, sounds like it was clear enough, thankfully...
Firstly, you need to make sure that the "Run" exercise is set up on your device. You can use the app to do this. Let me know if you need me to go through that.
When you're about to start your run, close all other apps apart from your podcast or MP3 player, then open the FitBit app. I only advise this as my phone can sometimes get flaky if I don't do that.
On your Charge2, press the button a few times until your exercise section appears (I have "Run" as the first entry, but this could be any of about 10, I think. Tap the screen until "Run" appears.
Hold down the button until the device buzzes. you will see a timer start.
Double check that the FitBit app is running in the foreground of your phone.
Your device should have a little smartphone icon to show that there is an active link to your phone. It should now GPS track your location.
Oh, one final thing, you will need to have given the FitBit app permission to use GPS tracking on your phone.
This is a summary, I can help with any more technical detail if you need.
Yep I’m going to delete it - there’s the same info on the Fitbit summary - thanks so much for the info - I have to collect my sister from the airport later tonight - then there’s a big celebratory gin with my name on it!
How did you find it? Is it better to layer up and try to keep dry or just accept you’ll get wet? Wondering if wet legs in shorts are better than wet leggings?
I had a t shirt and thin hoodie and leggings under my waterproof- didn’t particularly notice my legs wet in leggings - I unzipped my waterproof when I got too warm and just kept it together with the Velcro on the chest and neck and hood up - I was going slow so not super hot
Well done you! I’m due to do my run 3 tomorrow. We’ve been lucky with the weather here in Surrey, but rain is due tomorrow. Dropping my daughter at a party at 12 and hoping to do my run on the way home. Feels really weird not running/jogging today maybe I’m getting addicted! 🤣
I think frame of mind is important- I’ve written down some of the stuff people have said that resonates in my phone for inspiration to read before I head out
