W6R1 in the bag. Is it just me or does anyone else find the first run in each session so hard? Every time I battle through it, moving onto the subsequent walks and runs which seem so much easier. I'm sure it's a purely psychological issue, but I find it so frustrating.

W6R1
Week 6 is a hard week especially run 1.
I remember W6r1 because it’s the one after the dreaded 20 mins...i thought, because I had run for 20 minutes solid that week 6 would be easier, but it’s not!!! It is psychological though, you’re right...just try not to over think it...you’re already psyched up for the first run of every new week because your already expecting it to be hard...but you can do it, you know you can...you’re nearly there now....we’re all cheering you on...👏🏻👏🏻
I don’t think it is just psychological I think it’s called the toxic 10 where your body is trying to adjust to you running 😊
Yeah I’ve had a few struggles with the first runs of each week. I definitely found run 2 in week 6 much easier. Good luck 😊
Am about to do week 6 run 1 - which part was the most difficult would you say? I am a slow plodder but I was overjoyed to finish the 20mins last run - is it hard because it is split up?
I found the first 5 minute run the hardest, but then as I said in my post, I always find the first run in every session the most difficult. I think I just take a while to get going!
Did it tonight and found it much harder than I thought I would, felt like my legs were made of lead! The first bit definitely the hardest, once I was on the 5 min I was just determined to finish. Good luck!
Thanks for all your comments. Looks like I'll have to continue to plod through, in the knowledge that it'll get easier.
Yep every week the first one I always find that hard! Although I think psychologically I didn't notice this in week 5 because I was anticipating the 20 minute run so much! It didn't seem too bad this week either because I did a completely different route so was concentrating more on the timing.
