Never give up

Well here we are again after a loooong absence, fits and starts with running, silly niggly injuries, aches and pains , life and work stresses getting in the way,

Finally decided enough was enough and went back to the start C25K week 1 ... that was just over 9 weeks ago, completing all runs with no fuss or drama, well except for the rubbish and changeable weather. Finally completed week 9 run 3 last Friday with a full non stop 5k in 37:35 .. not fast but a very welcome achievement ..

My original C25K was approx 4 years ago seems like a lifetime but the same feelings of achievement and being positive.. not making any plans at this time regarding distance or times just very happy to be out in the fresh air running again with some confidence ..

I am now 60+ , an ex smoker of 4+ years ... the message here is never give up , no matter what life or running brings you ... the benefits far outweigh any negatives if there are any ..

It is good to be back

Congratulations. Great message at the end about not giving up and the benefits of running. Like you I have completed Couch a couple of times and then lapsed and am now re-booting again, and up to Week 6. I can give you ten years or so (anyone else remember getting their sweets with the Ration Book?) and the message from people like us. and so many on here, is that if we can do it, ANYONE can.

I only remember green shield stamps 😊

Good to see you back Rob.

Most of us have to regroup at some point and rebuild our running. I just did my first 10k for about six months, so I know what it is like to be building back up again.

Keep running, keep smiling.
