W7R2 π’π’: That was so hard today. Legs not too... - Couch to 5K
W7R2 π’π’
Calm down there. Be a bit zen about it. Itβs only a slow jog
Slow as you like. No hurry, no rush, no pressure π
My first 5+ minutes of running is always awful breathing. Now I recognise this for what it is - going off a bit fast and the shock running is still having on my (usually static) body.
Well done for keeping going - thatβs what will get you through the rest. W6R3 ahead for me π±π€£
Hello AliK, You've made it to the end, that's what matters!! W7 was the hardest for me but retrospectively, I think I was running too fast. So don't feel upset and start more slowly next time. It takes time to get the breathing and legs sort out (or not: we are not equal at all). Plus, some runs are bad and there's no obvious reason for it. I graduated in November, I've run quite regularly since then, 2 or 3 times a week (5K or 4K) until I decided it was time to move on to longer distances and reach the 10K. Well, I had 4 wonderful runs last week even if a very slow 10K. Went today for 5K and it was so tough! Sunny but windy: I was too hot and had to slow down to finish.
So, don't raise your expectations too high too quickly: every run is building up your stamina but it will get easier despite the odd feeling once in a while. Slow and steady!
I did the same run today once the rain had stopped. Decided to go to the park which resulted in me jumping over puddles and one bit completely flooded (near a lake) which saw me having to go over a muddy, off path bit so I ended up slowing down to a walk as I avoided slipping/getting hit by branches. It was only for 10-15 seconds (twice) but feel slighty disappointed that I kind of walked. I enjoyed it and did it in good time considering. Only 7 runs left. We can do it πͺπΌπππ
