W4R1 injury?? please advise

Hi everyone - I’ve recently re-started C25K after the snow has all finally buggered off. I’ve been really enjoying the program this time round, and amazed by how my stamina has been increasing.

However, over the back-end of W3 and particularly just now, on my first W4 run, I’ve had a very persistent pain behind both kneecaps, sometimes shooting down my shins, and coupled today with extreme dizziness when I finished my run. In fact, I say finished, I had to skip the last 5 min run on today’s run because it was just too painful.

Can anyone help me identify what’s wrong? I’d be grateful for any suggestions. Have any of you experienced this as well?

Many thanks :-))

Only a medical professional is going to give a diagnosis and that is unlikely unless they can examine you.

Knee pain and shin splints often occur because of the impact of running, so do everything you can to reduce it. Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body, not out in front and run on grass or a treadmill.

If your shoes are not fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop, they may well be contributing.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... It is full of tips.

Those are very fair points, I’ll look into them. Thankyou :-)
