I've completed W6R1 (on Tuesday) and will be running W6R2 tonight. I'm finding the shorter time runs harder. Does anyone else find this? and does anyone have any tips to help especially when pacing myself? Thanks

Hi ECKelly, ha, week 6 is a tricky one..you have reached the highs of the 20 minute run in Week 5, and somehow it feels harder to do the run/walk intervals again..
I think its a great week, and took it as a build up to W6 R3. You are still progressing so try not to think 'oh! this should be easy', as then you may start too quickly and run out of steam.
Always start your runs really steady and slow and relax into them. The first part of your run is when you are taking on the extra oxygen you need to cope with the exertion of running. While this is happening take it gently, you may feel the difference once you have your oxygen on board, keep nice and steady.
Good luck with your Week 6 R2, you know you can do it, but treat it with respect...its building your stamina😎💪
Let us know how you get on!😊x

I hate the first 5 minutes, it is my mini wall. I am relieved to have completed W6 so now only one lot of 5 minutes to get through each time. I just keep going after that, planning to avoid boggy areas and inclines you don’t notice until you run up them and altering my route if I am running out of path.
With pace, make sure your breathing is even, you should be able to chat but not sing. My daughter came with me today and kept warning me when I sped up, it is quite hard for her to run as slowly as I do but I was very grateful for her company.
