I’ve just completed my first run outside (I normally run on the treadmill) and did it for Matt Campbell and for a friend whose funeral is today. I thought it would be more of a tribute if I did it as my first run in a park.

It’s a lovely day and I’m so happy I managed to complete the 3.7 miles in honour of them both.

well done , i used to run on treadmill but love the outdoors now , nice tribute for both , and a local too ( im in braintree ) so may see you at notley parkrun in the future , we are doing a finishformatt at group on monday will be very emotional i would think

I wanted to start running outside and thought it was a good time to do my first one. I enjoyed it and found it easier than I thought it would be.

You are not far at all from me then and my daughter lives in Braintree. Once I have run outside for a while I will consider parkrun at sometime.

Hope it goes well on Monday - I felt very emotional and I was running on my own!
