Music while you run?

I don’t listen to music while I run... I think I’ll end up singing along and it’ll ruin my breathing pattern 😂🤣

What do others think? Am I missing out? Any recommendations? Thanks 🎧

Hi, for me singing along helps me to regulate my breathing :) and keep my pace steady, plus it distracts me from overthinking the running/time left etc 😂

I run to a Ministry of Sound album - clubber turned runner! I find it really motivates me, I get a burst of energy when I hear a tune I love! I also find the regular beat helps me to pace myself...I cool down to classical music though - I think this means I am getting old!

Thanks! I’ll look that one up; I love some club tunes!

I love listening to music while I run and if I can break out in song then I know I'm running at a "conversational pace". This is especially important if I'm doing a long run. Even if I don't feel like singing, I'll sometimes sing a chorus or line just to keep my pace in check. Unfortunately, I have caught myself singing a little loud, thinking I was alone on the path, just to see someone come out of their house or come around the corner, or be hiking up in the hills. Oops 😬

You are missing out! I can’t sing along at all as I have no spare breath, but it is a great distraction from counting down and sometimes brings comedy moments with strangely meaningful lyrics...!

I always run to music. I've put together my favourites & even though the beat doesn't often fit in with my steps, they always make me smile & take my mind off the run. On the odd occasion the music hasn't worked I've really missed it.

I have one earpiece in to listen to Spotify choices and the other ear listening to the birdsong ( and traffic near roads). Greedy but safe! 😂👍🏻

Omg it’s so much easier to run with music to distract from the pain 😂

I like kaiser chiefs, nirvana etc but dance stuff too. Some of the running albums have good dance tracks on.

Well I’ve tried it and I’m hooked! How did I ever run without music? I managed a full 5k in 33mins with my soundtrack as motivation ☺️🎧
