My first run

UnfitRunningMother profile image

Hi all, I’ve just completed my first run. Found it hard, but I did it! Hoping to get a bit fitter and lose some weight along the way too.

Well done you, it's a great way to get fit, tone up and most of all, have fun whilst you're doing it. Beware, it's addictive 🙂

Thanks for your comment, hope it gets addictive (and I get a bit better too)

You will, without any doubt. Slow and steady is the way forward, with a big handful of positiveness 🙂

That’s fabulous!! Keep going it really is worth it and take it slow, I often think I could walk faster but learning to run is like learning any new skill. You’ll find this an amazingly supportive forum so it’s worth reading everyone’s posts to let it wash over you gently. Good luck 😉🏃‍♀️

Congrats,on your first run! I did my first a couple of days ago. So much pain. So much unfitness lol. I'm taking an extra rest day I think. All the best with your training! 😀

And to you. I think slow and steady is the order of the day for me. Having not done any proper exercise like this for some years don’t want to do myself an injury. Good luck with your c25k journey.

welcome to the plan! your lung capacity will improve as well as your endurance, my cellulite is lowly disappearing and my legs have a tone to them which I hadn't noticed before doing cycling!

I admit it's tough those first few weeks, but the plan helps you mentally so that you don't look at the clock so much... when I've run in the past I was always stopping at the slightest ache or pain, now I just run through it - I graduated over a month ago and yesterday I ran 46 minutes non-stop.... something I would NEVER believe could be done!!! so just take each run at a time and you will soon be a graduate!
