I’ve now not run since last Thursday. Before that I’d run every other day for two weeks.

I’ve not ran because my knees and legs in general are in so much pain. I’ve been taking ibuprofen and stretching and having hot baths but don’t seem to be subsiding.

I’m missing running.

Am I daft to go and see the doctor??

Not daft at all. If after a week oh no high-impact exercise you’re still having to take ibuprofen, then a visit to your gp is a very good plan.

Thanks. I thought I might be being a bit soft but trying to do it the right way as want to carry on and not injure myself. My running partner is fine so it’s either I’ve done a bit of damage or I’m doing something wrong.

Hi,

Does it feel like joints, or more like muscles and tendons?

If the latter, then you could try a sports massage? I need to get booked in for another as I find them very useful.

It’s joints. Knees. They are both terrible. Doc says no running for two weeks. I feel blue.

Can you still do cycling or swimming? Exercise but will less impact?

Yes. Bit of walking and going to yoga and swim until better. So frustrating and if I’m honest a bit embarrassing. :(
