Hi community

Arrggh!! just stumbled across this whilst couch potaoin. 52 and having a midlife crises😆

Been going mad on detoxing, face serums, healthy eating, even got a sauna recently. Stopped smoking a few months ago and feeling ok so ready to move onto the next step. So here goes 🤔

Starting tomorrow Wish me luck

Well done Sars1. I'm 53 this year and I'm just about to start WK 9 which is 30 min run. I really struggled with 60 seconds at the start of this "journey"!! Just try to remember take it really slowly, no pressure to do 3 a week, go at a pace to suit you. (I'm on week 9, but its been more like 13 or 14 weeks to get here!!). Good luck, you can do it.

Well done for giving up smoking. You’ll find a new habit now - running! Take it really, really slowly and you’ll never look back. Also, if it’s not to late, read the FAQ post (in the pinned post section) before you start. Best wishes and good luck.

I’m 51. In Jan 2018 I puffed at 90 secs running 3 times in half an hour. Now I do 30 mins on treadmill. It’s worth it. 🌷

53 here, and just about to do W7R1. Thought I was going to puke and faint my first 60 second run, and now I can run 25 minutes with a smile on my face.

Trust us...it's totally doable and incredibly empowering!

You can do this, just make sure you come back and let us all know how you got on x

Thanks all.

Today didn't happen 😑 I'm not gonna lie im so nervous about going out.

It says walk 5 min run 60 secs then walk again and repeat 7 times 😲 (big gulp)

I need to prepare properly I think.

I need to take my phone and headphones so I can listen to instructions, plan my route, otherwise I'll just keep going and then find I'm in the middle of nowhere and too knackered to walk back lol. Do I take water?

Need to Figure out what I'm going to wear as well!!! Dont wanna be ditching me clothes on way round lol.I got my trainers and leggings...It's not easy is it lol.

I know once I start I will be fine. (Says biting lip).

Happy jogging xx

P.s I'm going to try again once the kids are bk to school Tue.

No worries all in good time.

I did the same to put off starting for a while, I managed to find all sorts of different reasons. I bought myself some new headphones, sorted out radio player for my phone, downloaded a map tracker, planned various routes on a website, even got a new top to run in - all sorts.

Finally decided I didn't even want the neighbours seeing me go out, so in the end I drove in the car to near by trail and once the coast was clear just set of walking. How ended up running I'm not sure but I did.

You'll do it eventually I'm sure, oh and don't worry about ending up miles away, a bell rings to let you know you're half way, so you know it time to turn around and come back, and 'cos I was in the car I left a couple of bottles of water in there for when I got back.

Good luck xx
