Hi, let me introduce myself, my name is Jackie. I have tried to run using different methods over the last few years but always given up or found a reason not to go (something always more important to do, not). A few weeks ago I decided to download the C25K app on the recommendation of a colleague. I haven't posted on here before as I was positive I would have given up by now. Anyway, I arrived in the park, sat in my car this morning watching the rain pour down my windscreen thinking to myself perhaps I should give it a miss and nearly drove back home, but, I didn't. I put my hood on, put my earphones in, turned on spotify and my app and went for it. So glad I did. Back home now with a nice cup of tea. I have signed up again for Race 4 Life and my aim is to actually run the whole 5k this year. Help me keep my spirits up :)

Well Done Jackie. I am in the same boat as you and have signed up for the Race for Life 5k which is being held in June up here in Aberdeen so Im hoping that I will be able to run it aswell. We are at the same stage so will have to keep each other going :-)

Thank you Elaine, I will be doing mine just outside Birmingham in Sutton Coldfield in July. I am determined to complete it running this year. We will keep each other going

Congratulations! I’ve signed up to the Race 4 Life in July too, here in Cornwall and although I graduated a month or so ago, I haven’t managed 5k yet. So we’re all in a similar boat I guess. Good luck both of you.

I'm behind you (week 2 for me) but I can see my future self in your post. However, you got out the car, pushed through and made it happen - that's huge. It's much easier to give up than keep going but you've pushed the negativity away today - that will make it easier for you to do the same the next time.

Woohoo!! Hopefully that race registration will keep you to your goal. Are there friends you plan to run with?

My daughter is doing the race with me but she is mega-fit anyway so I don't take her out training with me.

Great job for getting going, that's the hardest part! You can do it - just take it slowly and follow the programme :)
