Getting better!

I did my usual 5k'ish run and actually it wasn't too bad. Instead of trying to run it faster. I kept a steady pace and if I felt a little tired, I slowed my pace. Then when I was nearly at the finish line, I picked up the pace, only for a little bit. I felt really good about that. Felt I could do it as I was nearly finished and ready to do my cool down walk. I had to force myself out of bed to go for a run and I didn't feel great, but once I got through the 'toxic 10' I actually felt good. Was pleased that I did my 'long' run, instead of not going out at all or doing a shorter run, which I did on Monday morning. Each time I finish my run, while I am doing my cool down walk - I still can't believe that I am running for 30min/5k. Still really proud of myself!

And quite right too!.... and I know what you mean - I did 3k after work this evening and then just when my negative voices were saying: “hmm, shame you didn’t do 5k Liz”... I firmly slapped them down and laughed at them because four months ago 60 secs running was my limit and now I’m criticising myself for “only” running 24 mins??? Pah!🤣🏃‍♀️

Exactly and we have to do that. What we have achieved is amazing and the fact that we get out, run - for however long - is just great and all positive! This forum and really helped me on my running 'journey'!
